The most beautiful “continent” on Earth is gripped by lottery fever.

https://mylotto.co.nz/powerball-must-be-won

Lotto NZ adds: On Saturday 15th November, we’re holding a mind-blowing $55 million Must Be Won! This is the highest jackpot we’ve ever had, and it must be won on Saturday by one or more Powerball players!

How does a Must Be Won draw work?

In a Must Be Won draw, if there are no First Division winners the jackpot rolls down to the next Powerball division where there are winners - i.e. Second or Third Division. If there is more than one winner in that prize division, then the prize is shared equally between all those winners.

Why is the Powerball jackpot $55 million?

Having a Must Be Won jackpot over $50 million is rare, but it can happen! We’re expecting high ticket sales for this week’s Powerball draws which is great as we can offer a $55 million jackpot for players; it also means we can give back to local causes across Aotearoa.

When can you buy a ticket for the Must Be Won draw?

When the jackpot is this high, we see lots more people playing who wouldn’t usually, so it will be busy in stores and on MyLotto.

The best thing to do is avoid the rush by buying your ticket before draw day, or early on Saturday before stores get busy from around mid-afternoon. MyLotto is usually busiest in the last hour before sales close at 7:30pm…

Venezuela mobilises 200,000 Troops

https://dailytelegraph.co.nz/news/venezuela-mobilises-200000-troops/

Venezuela has placed its armed forces on high alert and ordered a nationwide military mobilisation in response to a growing US naval presence in the Caribbean. Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez announced on Tuesday (local time) that nearly 200,000 personnel from the army, navy, air force, and reserves had been put on full operational readiness and instructed to conduct extensive war drills through Wednesday to test the country’s defensive capabilities. The move follows confirmation from the US Navy that the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, accompanied by three warships, has entered the US Southern Command region, which encompasses most of Latin America and the Caribbean. The Ford—the Navy’s largest and most advanced carrier—was redeployed from Europe as part of a mission Washington says is aimed at combating drug trafficking. Its arrival reportedly raises the total US military footprint in the region to around 15,000 personnel...

Australia Turns the Rental Market into a Digital ID Testing Ground

https://reclaimthenet.org/australia-turns-the-rental-market-into-a-digital-id-testing-ground

…Governments around the world are steadily advancing their digital identity programs, presenting them as tools for convenience, security, and modernization across daily life. Australia has now taken another step in that direction, trialing a new digital ID system in the rental sector while also preparing to introduce nationwide online age verification requirements by the end of this year. Both systems rely on identity verification and could eventually become interconnected. The new federal pilot will allow tenants to confirm their identity and financial information online rather than repeatedly providing hard copies of personal documents such as passports, driver’s licenses, or bank statements to multiple real estate agents...

The Disguised Return of The EU’s Private Message Scanning Plot

https://reclaimthenet.org/the-disguised-return-of-the-eus-private-message-scanning-plot

After public outrage buried it once, the EU’s mass surveillance plan is back; rebranded, repackaged, and more invasive than before. A major political confrontation over online privacy is approaching as European governments prepare to decide on “Chat Control 2.0,” the European Commission’s revised proposal for monitoring private digital communications. The plan, which could be endorsed behind closed doors, has drawn urgent warnings from Dr. Patrick Breyer, a jurist and former Member of the European Parliament, who says the draft conceals sweeping new surveillance powers beneath misleading language about “risk mitigation” and “child protection.” In a release sent to Reclaim The Net, Breyer, long a defender of digital freedom, argues that the Commission has quietly reintroduced compulsory scanning of private messages after it was previously rejected...

Record NZ citizen departures drive sharp drop in net migration

https://dailytelegraph.co.nz/news/record-nz-citizen-departures-drive-sharp-drop-in-net-migration/

New Zealand’s net migration gain has plunged to 12,400 in the year to September 2025 — its lowest September total since 2013 outside the pandemic years — as record numbers of New Zealanders leave the country, according to provisional figures from Stats NZ. The fall from last year’s net gain of 42,400 reflects both a drop in migrant arrivals and a surge in departures, with 126,400 people leaving in the past year. The most striking shift was among New Zealand citizens, who recorded a near-record net loss of 46,400, driven by a provisional all-time high of 72,700 citizens moving overseas...

https:// intothelight.news/2025/11/06/interstellar-update-by-ismael-perez-3i- atlas-is-future-earths-living-probe-guiding-humanity-to-auralis-prime/

😇Clickbait or joke? - The cosmic story of 3I Atlas continues to unfold across the our solar plane. From a higher-dimensional lens, 3I Atlas is not merely an interstellar object, it’s a multidimensional messenger. This celestial traveler carries encoded frequencies meant to activate ancient starseed memories, awaken dormant DNA, and reestablish contact with the Galactic Federation. As it moves through our solar system, 3I Atlas emits subtle yet powerful vibrational waves that are influencing Earth’s magnetic field, uplifting human consciousness, and subtly altering timelines. Its trajectory is not random, it’s aligned with a broader cosmic mission to assist in humanity’s ascension and reconnect Earth with the divine grid of interstellar civilizations…

UAE spends millions on cloud seeding to fight chronic water scarcity

https://dailytelegraph.co.nz/world/uae-spends-millions-on-cloud-seeding-to-fight-chronic-water-scarcity/

The United Arab Emirates is investing millions of dollars annually in cloud seeding operations to combat its severe water shortage, according to Alya Al. The process involves pilots flying into clouds and releasing salt particles to stimulate rainfall in a desert nation that receives less than 100mm of rain each year. Until recently, cloud-seeding and man-made weather manipulation claims were dismissed by mainstream media and ‘scientists’ as “conspiracy theories”...

Von der Leyen accused of power grab with plan for personal EU spy agency

https://dailytelegraph.co.nz/world/von-der-leyen-accused-of-power-grab-with-plan-for-personal-eu-spy-agency/

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is reportedly planning to establish a new intelligence division directly under her control, according to the Financial Times. The proposed body would operate within the Commission’s secretariat-general, staffed by personnel from national intelligence agencies, and focus on information-sharing across the European Union rather than foreign espionage. The move has sparked unease within the EU’s existing Intelligence and Situation Centre (INTCEN), which was formed after the 9/11 attacks and sits under the European External Action Service. Officials there fear the new structure could duplicate their functions and undermine the bloc’s foreign policy arm. Critics have also accused von der Leyen of centralising power and sidelining other EU leaders, including foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas...

Pakistan Navy Warship Docks In Bangladesh For The First Time Since 1971

https://www.marineinsight.com/shipping-news/pakistan-navy-warship-docks-in-bangladesh-for-the-first-time-since-1971/

For the first time since the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, a Pakistan Navy warship has docked in Bangladesh. The frigate PNS Saif arrived at Chattogram Port on 8 November for a four-day goodwill visit, according to a statement issued by the Bangladesh Navy. The vessel, commanded by Captain Shujaat Abbas Raja, was welcomed by representatives from the Pakistan Embassy in Dhaka and senior officers of the Bangladesh Navy. Upon entering Bangladeshi waters, it was ceremonially received by BNS Shadhinota. The visit, they said, aims to enhance friendship and cooperation between the two navies. The PNS Saif, built in China, is an F-22P Zulfiquar-class missile frigate commissioned into the Pakistan Navy in 2010 and currently based in Karachi. The visit coincides with the Pakistan Navy Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf’s four-day tour to Bangladesh. During his stay, Admiral Ashraf met Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman and Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hassan...

Whakapapa Village is being evacuated as a massive blaze continues to rage through Tongariro National Park this evening.

https://www.1news.co.nz/2025/11/09/whakapapa-village-evacuated-as-tongariro-fire-continues-to-rage/

Thirty-six people living in the village, which serves as the main entrance to the park, were warned earlier today that they may need to evacuate, Fire and Emergency New Zealand said in an update this evening. "Those evacuating will make their way to the Central Plateau Emergency Management Centre in National Park and register so that everyone is accounted for. Those who then need assistance with finding accommodation will be supported by Civil Defence." Fire and Emergency Assistant Commander Craig Gold said the decision to evacuate the village was made based on the behaviour of the fire today. "We are erring on the side of caution and getting people out in daylight, after plenty of warning. This way we have time to make sure that everyone is accounted for during daylight." Firefighters are making headway against the blaze, with...

EU plans hub to tackle disinformation threat from Russia and others

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/nov/07/eu-plans-centre-for-democratic-resilience-to-fight-online-disinformation

Move follows ‘escalating hybrid attacks’ by Russia and other foreign powers spreading fake articles across social media. The EU executive plans to create a Centre for Democratic Resilience to counter disinformation from Russia and other authoritarian regimes, according to a leaked paper. The European Commission intends for the centre to bring together expertise across the EU and from countries seeking to join the bloc to fight foreign information manipulation and interference. The idea forms the centrepiece of the “democracy shield” pitched by the commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, when she sought a second term before the 2024 European elections...

in potential conflict with Russia, general warns

https://dailytelegraph.co.nz/news/germany-prepares-to-host-800000-nato-troops-in-potential-conflict-with-russia-general-warns/

Germany is ready to act as a central logistics hub for NATO in the event of a war with Russia, with plans in place to deploy up to 800,000 troops across Europe within six months, Lieutenant General Alexander Sollfrank has revealed. Speaking at the Bundeswehr’s annual conference in Berlin, the head of Germany’s joint operations command said the military’s *Operations Plan Germany*—a 1,000-page document drafted last year—outlines how the country would facilitate the rapid movement of soldiers and equipment from NATO allies if Article 5 were triggered. “Russia still possesses significant military potential despite the war in Ukraine and could launch a limited attack on NATO territory as early as tomorrow,” Sollfrank warned. German leaders have intensified their rhetoric toward Moscow in recent weeks. Chancellor Friedrich Merz has ruled out renewed diplomacy with Russia, while Defence Minister Boris Pistorius told the conference that “our way of life is in danger...
